The older I get...
The older one gets, I feel there is a possibility of becoming an increasingly boring individual. I am 22, I go to College, I wouldn't consider my self an "oldie," but i sure felt like one yesterday. The dishwasher in our apt has been making the dishes come out dirtier then they were when we originally loaded them into the dishwasher. So we contacted our land lord. His reply over text to me was, we will replace it. What color would you like? A brand new dishwasher, yes i fell asleep feeling VERY happy last night because a new dishwasher is being installed in my apartment early next week.... do you know what this means? It means cleaner dishes that sparkle and shine more than ever before AND no need to clean the dishes by hand b/c the new dishwasher will take care of that....
One christmas when i was 10 years old, i was apauled to see that my older sister had asked for clothing for christmas. on that christmas day, I vowed NEVER to care what others thought of me, to wear whatever i wanted to wear, and I wouldn't care what anyone else thought of me. I told myself the day i start asking for clothing a socks for christmas is the day I become the most boring individual in the world. By the time age 14 came around, I did indeed ask for clothes, and came to the realization that I was an extremely boring person, but it's okay. Life would sure be long if we didn't rejoice and get excited for the little things to happen in my life!

Grocery store= thinking time
They always say never go grocery shopping when you are hungry because you buy so much more, and as for me, i can't even think very rationally when i am hungry. So i see why this continues to be a brilliant statement. So I felt like a nerd, i decided to wear my hot orange reese's shirt today, and right when i walked into the grocery store, i felt it to be a bit ironic. I thought well, i would look extremely lame if I didn't buy a reese's, but I didn't even want one, so I didn't. Is that nerdy? Hope not. They are always interesting people in the grocery store, especially now when school is just about to start all the parentals with their first child that has ever gone to college, buying really unnecessary items, but i think that it comforts the parents to do all they can and more, while they are still here with their child.
Another thought I had was why is it that in our world, bigger is supposedly better? I ate some grapes today, and one was so extremely super-sized that i had to conquer eating it in two bites. Bigger isn't better, from my perspective anyways.... it's kind of like that continuing world debate quantity vs quality. I think that our world has skewed views about a lot of things, and this seems to be one of those problems that is ever becoming larger on our planet... I would personally rather eat two smaller size peaches, then one huge one, that I can't even get my jaw completely around....

It's safe to say, the lawn in front of one's house is generally owned by the residents of that household
So what are you supposed to do when you come home to your apartment at 9 pm and there are two random complete strangers laying on your front lawn together, yes a guy and girl..... just kissing and talking? I continued to walk straight to the front door, thinking they would be embarrased, apologize and leave,,,, well saying nothing was the first problem, because they stayed put and continued..... mostly i did NOT want to other people to walk by and think it was one of our roommates or even me.... no making out on others front lawns..... i should have figured from the start if they have the nerve to just lay down and do dumb things on my front lawn, they probably wouldn't move unless otherwise asked.... i didn't want it to come to that.... i mean what do you say that isn't socially awkward. at first I thought it must have been someone playing a joke, or breaking a social norm.... after double, then triple checking that I didn't know them, i got the courage to walk out and politely ask them to leave..... what do you say though, like this is my front lawn, you are making me feel uncomfortable....
Well this is how is went down, i walk out my front door, they don't move (at this point it's been 10 minutes).... i go to get the mail, i turn around and they are still right there un-moved. This situation needed to end, even if it was going to be awkward... i walked over to them, double checked that it was no one I knew and then said excuse me, could you two move somewhere else? The boy sits up 100% shocked and apologizes. he told me they were just looking for a quiet place to sit down. First of all they certainly were NOT sitting, they were laying, intertwined and secondly ninth east is hands down the busiest street in provo, so it's pretty much the silliest explanation ever. Then he says sure we can move... but is this your front lawn? I said yes it is.... in my head I was thinking well duh, i have walked in and out of my front door 3 different times, but maybe you were so caught up in whatever you were doing with your girlfriend that it didn't dawn on you; usually the front lawn in the front of one's house is also owned by the one's who happen to live in that house,.... wierdest question i have ever been asked in my life.... i still can't quite figure out what the heck they were doing there, on my lawn at 9:30 pm on a Monday night.

Age matters
One's age greatly affects what is socially acceptable for them to do. It's a strange concept, but in some following examples I will explain my previous statement. For instance, we've all seen a mom that's tries to be her daughters very best friend, she dresses like a teenager, and wants to be best friends with 17 year olds.
AT work yesterday I saw some funny funny things. My top two favorites, were both cute little grandpa's. The first i noticed because I heard a flip flop... flip flop... then i looked down to see what kind of shoes this 80 year old man was wearing with the rainbow brand flip flops.... and smile to myself so pleased that he still wears those :)
Lastly, with in five minutes of the flip flop grandpa, i saw a grandpa walking out with his single purchase..... Pop tarts!
When I am old, i hope I still eat lots of candy and have a spring in my step!
Have you ever thought about how you will look old? I have been trying to imagine myself as a grandma, and it's hilarious! I will wear dresses of pure sequins, and fake rubies if I so choose!
Maybe old peeps don't really care what other people think, hence the reason they do what they want.... can't wait to be a grandma!
